About the League

The Aldershot & Camberley District Badminton League was established in 1967, and is now one of the largest leagues in the south of England, boasting around 600 members, who play for 21 Clubs.

Currently our Badminton Clubs play in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Camberley, Farnborough, Farnham, Fleet, Hawley, Lightwater, Pirbright, Reading, Woking & Yateley. This enables us to encourage a very competitive league.

We are an all feather shuttle badminton league, and our match season runs from 1st September to the 30th April. However, a number of our clubs continue to play all year round.

The league comprises of both sixes and fours formats, and we currently run: -

4 Mixed, 4 Men’s & 3 Ladies sixes divisions, and 2 Mixed, 2 Men’s & 1 Ladies fours division.

The Aldershot & Camberley District Badminton League has recently adopted the new rally point scoring system, in accordance with Badminton England.

Sixes
We play 3 games to 21, with setting, and including sudden death at 29 – 29.
Matches are scored by games won

Fours
We play 2 games to 21, with no setting. Matches are scored by points won.

The new rally point system allows players to return home before midnight, keeps hall costs down to a minimum, and also means beating last orders at the pub!!

In 1971 we also launched our junior league, which today coaches over 300 juniors playing for 10 clubs. We have some of the best junior clubs within the surrounding 3 counties of Berkshire, Hampshire & Surrey, who employ fantastic coaches that produce juniors who go on to represent their counties and even England.
